We were actually hit by the hurricane! Nobody could believe it. A ton of schools and other work places (not mine) were closed yesterday and today because there are still people without power. It was estimated that between Dayton and Cincinnati there were 500,000 people that lost power. One guy I work with was told it could be up to 7 days before his power is turned back on. Of course, this makes our office total chaos because we have all the students calling saying their cable is out (duh) and wanting to know if classes are still going on (yes). Here are some pictures of my house. I was actually at an outdoor all day concert and they forced everyone to leave because of the winds (65-70 mph). I had a few limbs fall and my mailbox is the only one still standing in one picture. I was extremely lucky though. I never lost power or cable. And while I have a bunch of huge branches that are broken, but are somehow still dangling from my tree. I'm really worried because my neighbor tends to park in the road under my tree and there's a branch there that could fall at anytime on their car!!! Needless to say, I'm going to suck up to some guys at work and see if they will help me out!
I should have taken pictures around town of all the big trees that were either snapped in half or completely uprooted, but of course I didn't. If I see any still laying around, I'll try to get some pics. Here's all I have for now.
