Zoo

I went to the Columbus Zoo this weekend. It was really fun, but also really hot. I think it ended up being 93 degrees and very humid! I saw a bunch of cool animals. The zoo is also connected to a waterpark (not quite as big as Wet-n-wild, but has many of the same rides). I also went there, but didn't take my camera in there. My family tends to have bad luck with cameras and water (dad...), so I thought it would be best to leave the camera in the car for that part of the afternoon. Here are some pics of the animals I liked!

This elephant knew he was putting on a show and thought it would be funny to spray all of us with the water!! It was really fun!

This animal is called an okapi. It's most closely related the giraffe. Hint: don't sneeze, cause it's very easily scared...I know from experience!!

New furniture

I promised I would post some pics of my new tv and couch. So here they are! (They are also explained in a previous post).

Induction

I was inducted to Alpha Iota Delta. (See previous blog) Here is my pin and certificate from the induction. Apparently it means I'm in the top ten percent of my class (and they were all people who are graduating either this year or next year, which is not me!). I thought you would like to see pics. They took a pic of us individually as they gave us the certificates, so I'll probably post that one when I get it.

New Stuff!

I've been saving for quite a while now for a new TV, and finally found a good deal on one that I'm absolutely in love with!! It's a good fit for my house now, and will also be nice when I buy my own home someday! (Gotta think ahead right?) I ended up with a Plasma TV, which I know people sometimes say bad things about. BUT! I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews and I feel like this was the best choice for my new TV!! The problem some people have with plasmas is that sometimes images tend to get "burned" into the screen. My TV actually comes with features to prevent that and also a "washout" feature to fix any should it actually happen. Also, that's really more of a problem for video gamers who have maps on their screen that stay there too long. Images won't burn onto the screen unless they are constantly there and not moving around for a few hours or so. I tried to find a picture of my TV online, but could not get one. I guess I'll have to take one with my camera when I get home and post it later.

In other news...I came across a really good sale on my TV, so I had a little money left over. I currently have two couches (really a couch and a loveseat) that were given to me by a friend when she got new furniture. Well, they are really ugly and EXTREMELY uncomfortable! Boards are broken in them so you sit a little crooked in them, etc. So, I found a sectional couch (couch and chaise) that I fell in LOVE with. The best part is, I had saved so much for my TV that I had enough left over for this couch! Yay! Now when my parents come visit in a couple weeks, I'll have a good TV for my dad to watch his ESPN on and a comfortable place for us all to sit!! I'm soooo excited! I finally have all the furniture I could need now! I have a full living room and all my bedroom furniture matches (now that I've painted my bed to match)! I love it! Here's a pic of my new couch (except that I have the chaise part on the other side).

And the last piece of good news...I think they are building a SONIC right down the street from my house!! I'm soooo excited! You never realize how much you miss SONIC until you move away from it. That's all I got for now!
